This has been an ongoing feud. We started it by not providing consular rights under the Vienna Convention to foreign nationals. We feel enraged when our citizens are beheaded in Iraq, shouldn't we expect the same reactions when we kill citizens of other countries? Well I guess I'm a silly liberal because I want every man, woman and child on this planet to have rights.
