I dont think the ban extension passed since the bill it was attached to didnt pass. Maybe if I'm lucky I can order a brand new MP5 in September.

MP5 PDW!!!!!!! If it didn't or does not pass, it will make it cheaper to buy one as well. Rather than being robbed for $13,000 in some cases it would be more along the lines of $2,000 or less. Right now, I can get an AK-47 for $500 and an SKS for about the same price from someone with an FFL. Most of these pre ban guns are rediculously cheap, its the ban that drives the price up since we can't buy new manufactured.

Oh, btw I can get a conversion to a .50 Beowulf for any standard rifle. From what I was told its like shooting a double barreled 12ga shot gun, letting both go at the same time. $600.00 plus the cost of the rifle. Can you imagine a fully auto .50 cal??? Thats insane.

Yeah, I've looked at used ones for $5,000 or more. I just wished that I had managed to talk my parents into buying me an SKS when I was 12.

Why is this sad?
Do you need an AK47 or a M16 to hunt deer?
How many shots does it take to bring down a deer, or a rabbit, or a dove?

Honestly Im a gun fanatic. I love guns. I'm intrigued by how they work etc. I'm amazed everytime I pull the trigger on my .44 magnum Desert Eagle. Its not the rush of I"M SHOOTING!! as it is the rush of being able to harness the power to shoot through 3/8 steel plate. I have no intention of ever shooting someone. If they break into my house thats different than me hunting someone. I also like NHRA, which to most people is a complete waste of time, resourses etc. Its mostly just a fun factor. If I had more money I'd have more guns. People that know me know I'm a good gun owner as well. Locked, ammo is hidden, sometimes the gun is disassembled, as in the case of the higher powered guns. I have held someones .223 SKS, fully loaded and chambered. NOT A SAFE PERSON!!! The only reason I knew it was loaded, was, it was really heavy, and then I pulled back the bolt to reveal a round in the chamber. stupid stupid stupid.
A gun is good nor evil. Its the person that has it in their possesion.

Does a person need a Ferrari? No, but it's still nice to own one.

Yes, but I am sure Ferraris have killed far fewer people (or should that be deer?).

Anything can be used inappropriately. Hell, I knew a guy that stabbed someone with a drafting compass.

I don't share your passion for guns, but I understand it and I respect it.
I have no problem with guns, or gun owners, or gun collectors.
I just don't want automatic weapons on the street, in the hands of criminals, or worse yet, in the hands of irresponsible, stupid people.
We have to have some limit on what weapons ordinary people can own. No one says it is okay for private citizens to own nuclear weapons, for example. But I think reasonable people can disagree over where to draw the line. You would allow more guns into private hands, I would like fewer, but I thing something can be worked out that we can all live with.

Good point, Met.
I am still in EARLY middle age, in a few years I may NEED a Ferrari. Badly.
There has to be a way to let responsible people own weapons, but still prevent or punish anyone who uses one to hurt people.

Somehow I think that if an easy to use device, such as a gun, were removed there would be far fewer deaths. It's easy to pull the trigger, but to stab someone repeatedly takes more guts.

Excuse me, but I doubt that 99% of the people that would use these guns in a crime would actually spend the time to register them anyways. All this is doing is preventing law-abiding people from having them while the criminals can still get whatever they want. It's a fucking joke.

And don't give me that crap that it is because they kill people. Knives kill people too, yet you don't see samauri swords banned.

Awww....boo hoo. Rabid right winger can't have his pop gun. Why anyone would require an assault rifle is beyond me. And please do not rant on about the constitution; it's an outdated archaic piece of papyrus.

Also, I am qualified on the C-7 (5.56mm M16-A2 equiv), C-9 (5.56mm GPMG), C-6 (7.62mm GPMG), C-5 (.50cal turret mounted HMG) and numerous small arms. I am also a gold marksman, tested up to 400m. So I know of which I speak.

Soylent Green is you.
