I will tell you why you believe that; a lot of people have invested a lot of time and money to convince you that climate change is a hoax.
The people putting up the money tend to be in industries that cause pollution. Reducing pollution costs money, money which they would rather keep in their own pockets, so they use any excuse they can find to convince the public that there aren't really any serious consequences for pollution.
So they frame the issue as one, not of cause and effect (CO2 is a greenhouse gas that just might cause a greenhouse effect) but one of politics. Those who think pollution can cause bad effects are commie pinko liberal poopyheads, and those who refuse to believe their evil propaganda (cause might lead to effect) are heroic right-thinking conservatives who boldly disregard the facts because those facts are tainted with liberalism.
But you are right about one thing, it is about the money. Spending money to reduce pollution benefits everyone, saving it for owners of polluting companies only benefits those individuals at the expense of everyone.
See, it isn't that complicated.
You can say the same thing about those trying hard to prove climate change or whatever they trying this time to tax people for profit. Politics is too involved in the issue and they are using unproven hoax to make laws.
If they are making money, than people are being paid, governments are getting taxes, and other companies are selling them supplies. They do not live in a vacuum.
All of which may be true, but none of which changes the fact that the climate is changing, as it often does.
A green revolution in technology will be costly, but will more than pay for itself in the long run, and provide good new jobs for Americans and regain the US's position as world leader in technology. It would hardly be a bad thing.
The main reason to oppose such a thing is if you happen to be running a company that puts a lot of pollutants into the environment, and it is cheaper for you to keep doing that than to invest in technology that doesn't poison us to build wealth for yourself.
Not colder, rather increasing precipitation by increasing evaporation.

Could be worst places to be trapped, but I don't get this global warming? Makes it colder? Why do I still believe it is all a hoax to soak the planet of money.
