It's 640 Light Years away, so did it blow up 639.9 years ago or is blowing up now and won't be visible for 640 more years?
And I wonder how Ford Prefect is taking the news.
Then it will form a black hole, but we 19re too far away for that to matter.
If our own sun turned into a black hole it wouldn't matter. The mass is still the same, it just occupies an extremely small space.
That whole article was teh ghey.
Thanks for the link to explain it all away
Sorry, tc. The guy did say it was poosible that it could hsppen tomorrow (or a hundre yearsfrom now). So keep looking up. I think it will be a cool thing to observe, when it does go supernova.
Funny, but I had a dream about the event last night, after reading the article. The cold light of day, and a quick google check dispelled those imaginings, though.
Btw, isn't there a probabilty formula that guestimates the number of intelligent civilizations per cubic area? If so, then I wonder what the average number would be within the hazard zone?

Just my luck I know this is gonna happen like two days after I'm gone.

I think you are talking about the Drake Equation.

I hope there is TONS of truth about this.
