One of the fraternities that was active in the college I attended (many years ago) branded all of their members as part of the initiation. Just one more reason why going Greek never appealed to me. (In fairness I would never have been invited to join this particular organization anyway)

No, actually, it was an African American frat. I had zero chance of being invited to join this one, which come to think of it, is about equal to my chance of being invited to join any fraternity. 
Think I would have told my frat "thanks, but no thanks" if they wanted to brand me.
To think back when I was His Age I burned my ass backing into a hot stove. I really didn't want to ever do that again..and to think these kids volunteer for this...stupid!!
