Your not on Cobra from a divorce . thats when you lose your job...
Well, i would think it workers and famalies and it did say she was a divorce before hand so dunno.
she does say that it is some california vesion of cobra, so it is possible there are additional rules that allow it.
She does say she can't get medicaid due to not being employed, so..
However, her previous plan was marry some dude and make him take care of me. This was awesome, until they got divorced.
Her new plan is marry some dude and make him take care of me. This is horrific, and the fault of all the meanies who don't like health care reform as presented. We should just feel awful for this.
Who knows, shes got kids right? Who knows what the first marriage is about, 2nd one isnt sounding like a good idea.
Anyway, i wont sit and judge a whole lot of things neither of us know.
My comment has nothing to do with her relationships.
Her old plan was to marry some guy and have him take care of her. Because she chose that rather than work, her options are different. Now she is kind of stuck with that plan.
But somehow this is supposed to play as a problem with the system, rather than an inherent risk of her plan.
You make your decisions, and they have ramifications. Sometimes these things need to be considered before you decide you don't want to put up with someone's shit anymore.
Quite honestly, if this succeeds for her and she takes it as an opportunity to approach a relationship constructively with the notion that a major goal is to preserve said relationship, it may work out better than the first one. It may not too, there really isn't any details on why they got divorced.
Well, i have no idea if this woman wanted someone to take care of her as stated above.. Sorry, it just sounds kinda stereotypical.
"Because she chose that rather than work, "
Do you really know that? Or just putting down stay at home parents? There prob a few stay at home wives and husbands here who read this daily, just because they bother to take care of the kids doesnt say they searched out someone to take care of them etc.
All that doesnt change that this 2nd marriage still a fail of an idea.
(515): Dude a guy just showed up with alcohol and a bag of double cheese burgers. I think I found my future husband.
This happens all the time. This is a sad side effect of our shitty health insurance system. If you're not on a group policy, you have no protections. If you're not employed, you're better off going without and going bankrupt if you get sick rather than paying the exorbitant premiums.
