My hospital has a lot of nursing home residents who most people disregard as A&Ox0 meaning not aware or person, place or time. Some A&Ox2 or 1, etc. I often have to remind the residents that they might be surprised just how aware these people are.

Man this is really sad..23 years...hearing everything around you but cant speak or move. This is My interpretation of Hell..My heart aches for this Man...

Not just hearing, but feeling the wrinkle in the sheet, and being unable to scratch an itch, all the little annoyances we can deal with, just piled one on another and unable to even complain! I'd have been a total nut case long before 23 years!
