Just ask any cop you can find if they think it is okay for people to bring along their shootin' iron to a public event. I am willing to bet they are against it because it makes their job more difficult and potentially more dangerous.
You are betting wrong. Police officers, like every other collection of people in America, are not uniform in any decision. I personally know several police officers that don't have the slightest problem with people bringing guns to public events. One of them ran gun safety classes, including concealed carry safety. I am sure there are those that would side with Gramps. Ultimately, I bet that there is not a majority opinion on the subject within police officers.
And if you don't understand why you can't bring your gun to an event where the president is going to appear, well then you better brush up on your American history.
Perhaps you should brush up on your American history. You know, the history where Andrew Jackson fought in gun duels? The history that conveniently gets forgotten by the gun control activists? I would point out Andrew Jackson held open parties at the White House. As Maude Lynne would remark, back in the days when men in America were still real men.
I appreciate your input, and you are correct that cops have a variety of opinions just like everyone else, but I will keep my bet, thank you.
I am still willing to bet the a majority of police would rather seen an unarmed rather than an armed protest, especially when the president is nearby.
...especially when the president is nearby.
Generally, that is the Secret Service's job, and I have no doubt they would prefer all weapons be banned. However, their job is to protect the President, not the people's rights. The police, on the other hand, have to protect people's rights (among other things), just like the President is suppose to do.
Very interesting. I also find it amusing from a shooters perspective that you cna draw the left vs. right lines down teh AK vs. AR holy war.
Wow. Alaska v Arkansas. Really?

AK:

AR:

That's a relief! Imagine it the other way.
A few of our Black Panther bros carrying some brass and lead
FF has only whites arrested at Black Panther event
The FF makes sure that minorities carrying guns at events get minimum coverage. They have to protect themselves, and so the FF can catalyze the divide and conquer strategy.
The thing I got from this was the talking heads on TV were saying how scary it was that there are white people with guns and we have a black president and only bad things could come from it. They were going to shoot the black president .... MSM is just full of morons.
I'm actually really glad that guy got some airtime. From my understanding, he is a black man that supports gun rights and supports the health care plan. According to both sides of main stream media, such an individual does not exist.
Gramps
I remember hearing something about that. Is is okay to say that civilians shouldn't be bringing guns to a debate or a protest, regardless of their political persuasion?
If so, put me down for that. Just ask any cop you can find if they think it is okay for people to bring along their shootin' iron to a public event. I am willing to bet they are against it because it makes their job more difficult and potentially more dangerous.
