There is a real effort to scare the pants off of segments of the public about what Obama is up to, and a lot of it is greatly exaggerated (Obama is coming to get your guns) or just plain silly (Obama bowed to the Saudi king and you KNOW what THAT means!!!!)
Tim McVey turned from wannabee militia man and Turner Diaries reader into a homegrown terrorist on less red meat than has been chummed up by some in the not-so-loyal opposition since Jan 20. He believed that President Clinton killed the Wackos in Waco, a fraudulent message that had been repeatedly delivered by people who either didn't know the facts (Koresh killed most of the people who died there) or who didn't care as long as they could demonize Clinton. The Oklahoma City bombing was in retaliation for what McVey and others saw as an attack against Christianity by Clinton (a life long Southern Baptist). At the time, certain radio hosts were warning Christians that they shouldn't be surprised if Janet Reno shows up at THEIR church in a tank, and lots of other kooky stuff.
This is great propaganda material, and it really riles people up, but that can lead to some folks going off the deep end, like the guy in Pittsburgh who thought Obama was about to ban guns so he shot and killed 3 cops. This stuff does happen, and even though the propaganda effort is crude, see also Cut and steamed, some find it convincing and compelling.
It is a scary thought.

The reason the media is focusing on the rightwing report is due to the fact that contention sells, and the current President is a leftwing guy. The leftwing guys wouldn't be very worried about such a report because they know Washington is currently vastly on their side, thus there is very little incentive to run such a report in the news.
The joint federal-state activities will have "a particular emphasis" on the causes of "rightwing extremist radicalization."
This sounds like a penetrating intellectual study requiring intense research such as those "Do violent video games and television make kids more likely to be violent" studies. To get a real reading on these groups the feds should employ real experts on radical activities like the FF favorites Bill Ayers, Malcolm X followers and the Black Panthers who can give the investigators deep insight as to what causes a group to oppose government. They would appreciate being on the government payroll too.

While I agree with the sentiment in reference to true terrorists, the government is labeling nearly everyone a terrorist (and has been for many years now). If the report does include "groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority" (which to be honest I am somewhat suspicious about, as I notice they don't actually quote the report on that statement, nor do they provide a copy of it for perusal), then that starts to edge against violating the Constitution.
This is my greatest worry about Obama's administration. I even noticed Obama discussing it during his inauguration speech, talking about how we should all stop dissenting or some such. Dissension is vital to the United States, in my opinion. I don't agree with some of his policies, and I will not stop saying so simply because he asks me too. It's not only naive for him to ask, I find it in some ways insulting.

Of course they had press reports ready to go. They pay people to have them prepped in advance for all possible outcomes of a crisis.
We calculated they would use tri snipers or a Navy Seal mini sub to overturn the boat or attack it from the bottom and sides. Most of the pirates we send out are children so that if the west attacks them we can accuse the west of torture, by keeping the wealth redistributors sunburned, hungry and thirsty for days and eventually killing these children without a fair trail, as in this case. The boat was no different than Gitmo. Bush would have attacked this situation differently by nuking the boat, and that is why we have waited for Obama admin to come in so we do some heavy duty playing field leveling without worrying as much as we would have had under another administration.
