Yeah, it looked to me more like a hearing-aid deficit than a mental deficit.
Joe Biden, skilled orator and lifelong U.S. Senator, says J-O-B-S is a three- letter word. Can you imagine if Sarah Palin had said this?
J O B S
I saw that clip and it is hilarious. Biden is always good for a laugh at some dumb shit that he says. That doesn't make him a bad guy or a stupid guy, just a guy who's mouth isn't always connected to his brain.
Same for McCain. He is a skilled debater and overall politician. If he sometimes says something stupid, I would just chalk it up to the fact that everyone does it sometimes.
As for Palin, I haven't really hear her say anything of real substance that wasn't written down for her. I don't think she can really speak authoritatively on issues of national policy on her own. As has been said before, she was selected to help with the campaign and she is useful for speaking to the hardcore conservative and Christian Right base of the GOP. I think McCain hoped that she would have a more general appeal as well as a symbol of motherhood and small town can-do reformer aggressiveness and to some extent she does have that. What she isn't is a help to McCain in running the country if he becomes elected. She would be next to useless for that.
You can't blame Palin for just being who she is. If there is a fault there it lies with McCain who threw her into a role that she clearly isn't suited for.
You don't think that Biden's speeches are scripted for him? He can't even spell ... Dan Quayle was roasted for how he spelled potato ...
Gramps .. you need to take two steps back and look at the candidates with the same bifocals .. and clean out your ears too
Scripted yes, but Biden has a strong foundation of knowledge, so he understands what he's reading. Palin does not.
I have heard Biden speak many times.
While it is true that he has that Dan Quale quality where you never know if the next words out of his mouth will be knee slappers, he is also a serious guy and a serious politician. I have spent some time in Delaware and I know first hand that at least one of the giant companies that is headquartered there (Delaware is a tax haven State) loves Biden for his common sense pro-business point of view. He is one of the few pols I know of that seems to be equally concerned for a company's financial well being and for the well being of the employees of that company.
He is no dummy, and a rare breed (maybe a singular breed) of politician. He would be "Right as rain but dull as dishwater" as the old saying goes if it wasn't for that foot in mouth disease of his.
So enjoy the next 4 years, Big T, there will be fun galore with Biden as VP. Not as much fun as Quale, but we will get a lot more done.

Not sure if it affected anything, but there appears to be a breeze blowing. I am wondering if he is upwind or downwind of questioner.
