This just reaffirms my belief that the Top Forty charts should be totally ignored and regarded as irrelevant to good musical taste. Very rarely does anything pop up on them that is worth listening to. Mostly very, very bad R&B and dance music dominates them and I have no clue as to how people can take listening to that stuff day in and day out, it would drive me to to straitjacket central.
I have no idea when they stopped being a good tool to locate good, new music, but it was probably in the early 80's.
