At least he did not kill a friend after failing gun safety basics. Even if you don't like guns, it should be required that everyone has gun safety course at age 5 and a refresher at maybe 10.
Sadly, in my neck of the woods an older brother (10) shot his little bro in the head this week.
seems to happen more often in areas where people buy guns just 'for protection' than in more rural places where guns may have other legitimate uses. A child isn't aware of it but but then finds the gun bought to protect against burglers and the occasional kid-napper, and his only experience with guns is as a toy -
