India desires to be the dominant power in that region. They always have, and they probably always will. This is merely a logical extension of those ambitions. This isnt about "stealing" and this isnt about oil. This is about national ambition for India, just like with any other country.
And where the hell do you get that the U.S. is stealing land and oil? The U.S. is actually importing oil into Iraq for Christ's sakes. That to me seems like we are stealing big fat zilch in the way of oil.
