Um...the LHC makes zombies? THAT explains why they buried it. I has to be level with the corpses, to properly animate them.
In that case, I'm guessing your zombies are in France and Switzerland. Hmmm. That's about 3800 miles As the crow flies from Geneve to NY.
I'm guessing they move 2 miles an hour, but it may be 1/2 mph while crossing the ocean floor. I'll give it a guestimate of 7300 hours...which is close to 10 months. That should give you plenty of time to buy rations and shotgun shells.
