Thank you Mr. Hammer. Another confirmation that the west needs to suppress western oil production so they can prove that the west does not need Arab oil. Completely stop western oil production now.
Shockingly, the headline and comment given to us by Ham, is misleading and not representative of the whole article.
But don't take my word for it, read the post until the end.
In the past year, two other groups of scientists--one in Germany, the second in the United States--have come to the same conclusion: Warming is on hold, likely because of a cooling of the Earth's upper oceans, but it will resume.
I read to the end... they dont know their ass from a hole in the ground...and they said its still cooling....so?
What he said, in its proper context, is that there is a pause in the warming process.
Whether or not this guy is correct or if he knows his ass from a hole in the ground is an entirely different matter. I am just saying what he said.
Interesting that Ham would quote the part about the pause without referencing the fact that the guy believes that after the pause, the warming will continue. As I said, misleading.
goes to the ass and hole in the ground aspect
My point is they cannot. It's true the supercomputer models Latif and other modellers rely on for their dire predictions are becoming more accurate. But getting the future correct is far trickier. Chances are some unforeseen future changes will throw the current predictions out of whack long before the forecast resumption of warming.
Hey Gramps!
How does a Mexican pronounce the 7th month???
Yu - lie!!
Ok, here's a question.
If global warming is anthropogenic, caused by CO2 emissions, and we are increasing CO2 emissions year on year, how can we have a pause?
You will also note that it gets cooler and cooler, the more the climate simulations are audited by third parties and bad math and code is called into question and corrected.
I think the only way you get a pause is as more of the components of the simulation model are being dropped on the floor for being bad math and science or outright fabrications, climatologists are falling back to other models and theories that won't be able to claim a horizon closer than a couple decades.
Also of interest is that the grassroots audit of temperature monitoring stations in the US just recently hit and the results were.. uhhh.. embarrassing. Not for my side of this thing, but yours. The presentation is pretty neat actually.

Me, I'm on the side of solid science, not the side of people using scare tactics to secure unending funding for their research or to cement political control of more facets of a person's day to day life while lining their pockets.
If you put ice in a drink that is at 30 degrees and start to warm it up, it will warm to 32 degrees, then will pause at that temperature till all the ice melts, then the temperature will continue it's climb! Just as an example, though we do seem to have a LOT of ice melting right now! North-West passage anyone!!
Uhh not really. Even in a glass, the temperature is not uniform the whole time. Your statement only vaguely applies to a system with uniform temperature with energy moving in or out. In the oceans, the temperature is not uniform ever. Then you get into things like convection and salinity. Both global warming theories on that have fallen apart compared to actual measurements. To the point that the guy saying the thermocline would shut down to decreased salinity, measured increased salinity and then changed his mind to the thermocline would shut down because of increased salinity.
As for the ice melting analogy being appropriate to actual measurements, yes, sea ice melted along with the solar maxima. However, with us passing out of the solar maxima, we have seen arctic sea ice expand and grow thicker. So if your pause is from your melting ice cooling the "glass" of water, we shouldn't see the temps dip after rising. But we are.
Wow! Someone actually took that comment seriously, as if it applied to the real world!!
Gramps - You really CAN'T read!
You said "Interesting that Ham would quote the part about the pause without referencing the fact that the guy believes that after the pause, the warming will continue."
It's clear there is no warming going on now even though CO2 levels continue to increase (Thanks to the First Lady and alGore's fat azz). The future is the future and we don't know what will happen in the future.
But in the present, global warmists are simply WRONG.
ALSO he is saying that those models that currently say the Earth is warming do not agree with data and so the models are wrong (get someone to read the Wikipedia article on the Scientific Method to you).
No thanks, the article you posted says something different that what you say it says.
That is enough for me to see what you are doing.

to quote the story:
Latif is one of the leading climate modellers in the world. He is the recipient of several international climate-study prizes and a lead author for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He has contributed significantly to the IPCC's last two five-year reports that have stated unequivocally that man-made greenhouse emissions are causing the planet to warm dangerously.
Yet last week in Geneva, at the UN's World Climate Conference--an annual gathering of the so-called "scientific consensus" on man-made climate change --Latif conceded the Earth has not warmed for nearly a decade and that we are likely entering "one or even two decades during which temperatures cool."
Can we just put this whole load of crap to rest?!?!?
