It's a Non-issue for me! Ubuntu has the check for Updates button greyed out in Firefox! Still running 3.0.13, Ubuntu won't offer 3.5 till Ubuntu 9.10 in October! I could do it manually from the mozilla site, but it's not worth the effort to me!

You could just uninstall it from Add/Remove or follow this guide for the terminalTerminal Install

I am at the SAFE region of the cutting edge! 9.04 Jaunty, but the only things I have installed that aren't from the Repositories are Ubuntu Tweak and Calibre for my Sony PRS-505 eReader!! Oops almost forgot the latest versions of Wine!!

Nice setup man, I was tempted to setup Compiz Fusion but why mess with a good thing

I use VirtualBox myself so I can run 2 or 3 versions of Windows simultaneously and just connect them all together using SAMBA :)

Thats the great thing about Linux, so much variety and yet so stable

Good to meet a fellow Ubuntu appreciator

Getting a bit away from Firefox, but a question, does Virtualbox let XP use the usb ports on the machine? The only reason I dual boot is I bought a Cheap Scanner and have the Sony PRS-505 who's library program only runs in Windows, Calibre does most of what I need in that department, but still need the Sony software for DRMed eBooks!

upgraded to firefox 3.52 sometime ago. 's ok.

I can't remember which, but one of the recent versions increased browser load speed. And very few of my addons are having problems.

One of the few problems with the new version is that they have a single web page as a tab. That can be shut off in about:config by setting browsertabsautohide to true.
