Attackers extend the ground of a nearby power socket and attach to it two probes separated by a resistor. The voltage difference and the fluctuations in that difference 13 the keyboard signals 13 are captured from both ends of the resistor and converted to letters.
so they sneak into my house... with 800 dollars worth of gear... to steal my battlenet password???...Wheeeee Ooooooo you go girls.
You beat me to the punch there...
Actually, the laser attack is probably the more accessible one. Especially since it likely isn't necessary for it to be within the visible spectrum.
This is also a much, MUCH bigger concern for anyone that is running a secure facility. Sure, there is keycard and biometric access controls for the top secret project areas, but now the contract temp has physical access to your power outlets, and can go snooping for any leakage form your secure projects are.
Is this a problem for you when you are playing warcraft? no.
Is this a problem when your bank's computer security isn't prepared to deal with it internally, and someone uses it to gain access to their systems or to harvest user data?
Yes, yes it is.
a temp that is seen messing with a buildings power wiring would be in jail... and Get Smart did lasers a long time ago. black hat or grey/white hat?
and I wouldnt pay to play ever so no warcraft for me.
I would do the WOW at the PC cafe. I kick those kid's asses! They hate me. Muah-ha-ha.
Yeah. Becuase permalancers are never put in charge of anything important. Nor are consultants or contractors.
Or just normal employees who have an axe to grind or someone is paying htem to snoop.
The biggest risks are always internal, and this kind of stuff puts a lot of holes in a lot of practices.
