NBC Paid a lot of $$$ to get the TV rights for the US. I'm not saying blacking them out is good for consumers, but NBC protecting it's investment. On the left coast the shows are delayed so that those people can watch Entertainment tonight and the local news ... etc. Those shows make a lot of money for the local stations and it is about $ first and entertainment second.
I'm sure CBC is biased in it's coverage too .. they always sell a product to their viewers. I agree about the 1/2 hour back stories .. they get a little old. I could deal with a 5 minute blurb but most fo these things are too long.
I definitely would like something to switch back and forth between.
There is MSNBC as well that's been showing other Olympics ... different sports mostly curling and hockey.
Also CNBS Men and Women's Curling! I think the US team is going to get an ass whopping from the Brits tonight, watched them lose to Canada yesterday and those are some serious good people on those teams
WTF?! 24 medals and none of them are for curling?
/hangs head in shame

How did NBC get the CBC blacked out? Here in the States I always look forward to the Canadian coverage that is not so biased. I like to watch all the sports. If there is not a American up for a metal, NBC doesn't show the sport. An I hate Bob Costas anyway. Just show us the event. We don't care about some drippy 1/2 hour long back story.
