These parents are most unwise in disallowing the teachers to use math class time to focus on social issues rather than math, the principle subject that makes teachers, schools and students look bad when the students fail the "No Child Left Behind" courses and force the school to lose federal funding. By simplifying the arithmetic courses and at the same time using the math to teach social justice, we can create a win win situation where grades will improve and, at the same time, knowledge can be provided to teach kids just how evil a place the west is and what OWS type protests are needed to improve it.
