Yeah, the muffin story got to be big news because a bit of information that was reported incorrectly was spun up into a big deal, which turns out to be all about nothing.
I am not saying that Fast and Furious is the same kind of story, but it is coming from the same kinds of sources.
Gramps .. a few minor things .. you make it seem like it was all a fabrication.
1) The original numbers came from the DOJ.
2) The report didn't say how much was actually paid for the muffins .. it could have been $10. $14 or $1., perhaps an inconvenient truth that is not being told. I am sure the correct number will come out this week.
3)The DOJ piped up about this event in relatively short order .. F&F .. well, it's been around since the start of the year - and the DOJ is keeping as much mum as possible on this. People have died in F&F, the muffin story, well, at least these folks were not eating doughnuts.
4) Just because FOX news reports these things doesn't mean they make things up. CBS news is just about the only other news source that has posted on F&F - one might ask ..WTF is wrong with the other news sources, not what is wrong with Fox news or CBS. If for not Bob Woodward and news agencies investigating what would have happened to Watergate story?
Sometimes one news outlet reports stories that the others won't touch. Sometimes this is because the media is timid and afraid of their own shadows, concerning certain topics. Sometimes it is because one outlet has special access to information that the others don't, and sometimes it is because the story is really not news worthy, or not verifiable, or not even true, as in the case of the buffet breakfast for $16 that was reported as $16 per muffin.
Any of these might be the case with F&F, but it seems that the same news outlets that report Birther stories as fact are playing up this one.
I am sure the truth will come out about this eventually.
If ya google rawstory has covered F&F in the past... I think sometimes people feel strongly on an issue though and for them it not covered enough. Also though, some just want to make F&F into another contra affair, doesnt matter what happened. (Personaly F&F is one of those few that really annoys me from this admin and i would like to get to the bottom of it. At the same time though, i admit that American drug policy is part of what causes so much to happen in Mexico and think that should be changed also.)

Wow .. DOJ and Raw Story all over the big muffin story .. Fast and Furious .. where people have gotten killed .. well - let's not talk about that one too much, can we bury that story ... oh wait, unless it was .. well GW's team did it .. well sorta ... nobody died, and maybe no hand grenades made it across the border like F&F .. and the BIG maybe is that the DOJ and WH are trying to hide info on that story and playing forgetful .... muffins though .. we're all over that..... except the report never really said how much the muffins really cost
and if they really could get to the bottom of this story ... (mind you now costs was really given) how come they can't seem to find out too much about Fast and Furious .. who knew about it when and who authorized it.
