OK, lets say that I agree that we need to slow down the rate at which the banking system expands the money supply (which I do).

I'll accept a 1% tax as something that would aid in that, although not particularly effectively.

How they hell does adbusters reach the conclusion that tax would pay for every social program and environmental initiative in the world?


1% of 1.3 trillion dolalrs is 13 billion. Lets just take the US. Lets just take federal education spending. It's $120 billion for FY12. Heck, lets give them the benefit of the doubt that that 1.3 trillion dollars is fully transfered 200 times in one annum. That means they have somehow exerciesd a tax of 2.6 trillion on 1.3 trillion dollars. It's like magic.

Now lets add in medicare, medicaid, social security, the EPA budget, that brings us up to about 1.5 trillion dollars. keep in mind if that's just the federal government. The states pick up half the tab (at least) for medicare and medicaid. That bring the tab up to 2.3 trillion.

We can fund the rest of the planet for 300 billion?

Math is hard.
