I suppose back to back Texas governors George W Bush and Rick Perry giving industry any tax breaks, tax incentives, and regulatory relief they wanted plays no part in this at all, right?
The link gives no cause to the fire. You are quick to speculate that this was the result of lack of regulation. And I have no clue how a tax break can spark a fire. Care to explain?
At least they weren't burdened by excessive regulation." Har. :-)
Don't rock his fantasy world - where everything is GW's/tea party/the party of No/Koch brothers fault.
There is only one true hope for the country and world

Hey, Big T, in fairness to me, I never said anything that indicates I think Mr Obama is anything more than just another politician.
Furthermore, I think very few Obama voters from 2008 have the slavish devotion to him that so many Bush voters had. I don't have to agree with a guy 100% of the time to support him. If you recall 99% support was never enough loyalty for Mr Bush.
I don't agree with anyone 100%. Not even myself. I look at some of my old comments and I don't agree with some of them at all. In the real world there is no 100% lock step.
Sure, Z, I think I can handle that. Back in Bush's early days as Texas governor, he gave enormous advantages, including sweetheart deregulation, tax breaks and incentives, and laws written by this one particular company so that they would have a competitive advantage over everyone else.
That company was Enron and eventually the entire corporation blew up. Went from #8 largest company in the US to a giant Texas fireball in a short period of time.
Cute Gramps. What does that have to do with the link in question? Where is the factual connection to deregulation? Are you copying the playbook of your hated conservative websites and pushing bullshit without support to back it up?
Call it idle speculation.
I simply asked a question in response to Big T's comment, which is a much greater stretch, comparing the fire to the Obama economy.
So answer me this, which is a more plausible connection to this fire at a Texas plant, President Obama's handling of the national economy over the past 3 years (Big T's analogy) or the immediate past 16 years of a policy of deregulation of industry in Texas?
And why call my speculation into question without challenging the more far fetched one from Big T?
Maybe because YOUR headline had some flippant remark about regulation or lack of causing a chemical plant to go down in flames. There is no evidence or cause to have said that except for you dogmatic insistence that regulation is a good thing and having less regulation will cause mayhem and death and destruction. Much less regulation would have made a difference.
Yeah my initial comment was flippant, but there is more evidence that the economy is flaming than the factory is flaming due to lack of regulation ...and who is the man on watch in the Big House??? It's Obama ... duh?
Maybe because the economy is in terrible shape. The economy has gotten much worse in the last few years. President Obama has been the president for the last few years.
Is the terrible economy all Obama's fault - NO .. has he made the economy better - NO - has the national debt spiraled out of control .. HISTORICALLY - YES
It would be hard to think that the democrat congress 1.5$ trillion dollar TARP bailout - first asked for by crook Paulsen and further made worse by crook Turbo Tax Timmy had any positive effect except the fat cats on Wall Street getting fatter.
Those evil repugs tried to stop TARP 1&2 but were coerced by the democratically controlled congress .. ala Pelosi and Reid .. pretty much down party lines did those TARP 1&2 get passed.
Then you find out in a one time audit that foreign banks got hundreds of billions of American dollars.
Even clown Bernanke says we're in a recession again, Obama says people are worse off than they were four years ago .... so who in their right mind will say that the economy isn't flaming out except for a die hard cheer leader for team blue!
I really can't think of you having any harsh words for Obama or his polices .. just about daily shots at GW .. ex president of 3 years ago .. but the current president and current polices

No I hear about not agreeing with anyone 100% .. so what would you say you agree with Obama on .. 95 ..90 .. 75 .. 50 .. 25%. Cuz I really can't remember too many posts from you disagreeing with his polices at all. I realize there have been plenty of other posts disagreeing with his policies and perhaps you just never felt the need to embellish those threads?
I certainly don't agree with about 1/2 the things that Ron Paul says or fully agree with them.
There seems to be in the anti-Obama factor.
Big_T
Kind of like the Obama economy .. the flames part - for sure not the regulations
