Waits for this story to be true.. *gets a lawn chair because its going to be a long wait.* Atleast i know what it was like on a witchhunt now!

On a serious note raz, T i am kinda sad neither of you bothered to look into the validity of this.. Why do people feel the need to make up fake news? And why do others lay in wait to jump on it(Other then it fits an agenda they feel strongly about)? I really dont get the logic in that, the world and news bad enough without making shit up.

Ah, and i have a prediction, that you guys will agree with more and more of steamed's stories as elections get closer.

Also, am i the only one who notices the lack of legit posts these days? Seems this place gets turned into a necon trolling spot and the others jump ship. If you doubt it just look at recents and then look to the right at who the top posters have been. The dems didnt do that here, not even when Bush was in office. Though i have no doubt they could pull out some google and political spam these pages as much as you guys do, they could put up outright lies you all could find counters for etc the same as we have seen here. They just dont, i wonder why?

I have noticed that you rarely contribute any articles to MV, and that when you do comment it is usually only about political threads and then you ridicule the people who have a different opinion than you do ... Yes .. I did notice that. Why don't you try to submit a few articles to MV yourself - contribute to the MV community, and perhaps participate in some threads other than political ones. You have 422 comments and 88 links .. of those, I would hazard to guess are over 90% political in nature.

Your criticism regarding political submissions is absurd given you submit nearly 100% political submissions. Also, you criticize ME for not investigating when I often do, and you almost NEVER do. Why is it people on the left always seem to think it is the other guys job to prove them wrong, not their job to prove themselves correct.

AS for is it true? Mostly, but not exactly as being reported by the right wing blogosphere.

1) from the right, the original article here is a good exmaple. But the summation that if you leve your bailed hay in the field, you could get fined by the EPA is essentially correct.

2) from the left. http://www.treehugger.com/files/2011/09/rumor-mongering-against-epa-reaches-new-extreme-on-news-aggregation-sites.php You'll note they say "well I couldn't find it, so these people who disagree with me must be lying" They say that all the EPA can do is issue guidelines and tell you you aren't in compliance.

3) from reality http://www.agweek.com/event/article/id/19061/ Basically an industry trade blog. What it basically says is that they have confirmed that the local EPA office HAS cited the feedlot, HAS issued a letter of compliance, and has threatened them with fines for the presence of silage outside of a pollution control area. They have done so under Clean water act regulations.

Silage is what your average person would consider hay. It is not the dried up hay bale, but the big semi-green cylinders you see (can be baled into other shapes), and still contains moisture. It can rot a bit when stored in a field, and when grass rots its ph becomes more acidic. So yes, the EPA has declared hay a pollutant. Of more concern is the fact that for this stuff to be a significant threat to acidify local estuaries, you need a LOT of it. Which means the big lots should be getting investigated and fined more.

Oddly enough, if you aren't a feed lot, but the guy who bales the stuff, you can leave it in the field as far as I can tell because although it can technically pollute just the same, it doesn't have the same pollution retention regulations as a feedlot.

So I'll reiterate, the EPA needs a smack upside the head, as local regulators haven't found any acidification and have had no issue with the storage of the silage and distiller's grain.

Is it not time for Resurected to rage quit again? I think the schedule is every 3 months he types "EVERYBODY BUT ME IS A TROLL" then says he will never post again before waiting a week and posting again. At least steamed is funny some times....less so lately.

the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently initiated a formal enforcement action against his Kansas feedlot for, among other things, failure to store his hay in a pollution containment zone.
