All your money are belong to the federal family, just as the pro taxation without representation British loyalists said in the American Revolution when the Tea Partiers at the time were fighting the Obama supporters of the time.
Bachmann added: 1CObviously we need to give money back to the government so that we can run the government. 1D
This is what is so great about Bachmann; she can say the tax rate should be zero, that you should be able to hang on to every dollar you earn, then in the next breath says "Obviously we need to give back money to the government so that we can run the government"
No one calls her out of the this juxtaposition of opposites. You should be able to keep all of your money, but the government needs some of it to operate. Okay, sure, no problem.
You will pay taxes. You will either pay it to the government or you will pay it to your local war lord, but you will pay taxes.

If lowering the rate of taxation is supposed to increase the number of dollars that are collected in taxes (A silly point of view that is nearly dogma for many conservatives) think how much we would collect if the tax rate was zero! We would collect infinite numbers of tax dollars.
The only downside for conservatives for a zero tax rate would be that they couldn't give further tax cuts to the top earners. There would be no way to go lower once the rate hits zero.
And of course they would have to stop bellyaching about how high the taxes are.
