Stupid article is stupid.
You try to get good stuff for your district (unless you represent NJ). Amongst "good stuff" are jobs. You don't really care about the location on the political spectrum of said job unless it directly affects campaigning.
That being said, if a given policy crates 10,000 jobs, but causes 40,000 layoffs, it is job killing. Just because you have pointed that out doesn't mean you don't try to grab as many of the 10,000 jobs for your district as you can to minimize the harm.
Nothing about that is hypocritical.
