I could have sworn that I heard that there was an uprising, and armed conflict which resulted in the creation of the modern State of Israel.
You are correct: there were all of these things, but the UN didn't put Israel on the map. The UN wants to remove it. BIG DIFF.
I didn't say that the UN put Israel, thebaron, said that and he is well known around these parts for asserting nonfactual material as fact.
I have noticed that the UN is not friendly toward Israel, but I haven't heard that they were removing the entire country. How did that not make the news?
We highly appreciate Mr. Gramp's and Jimmy Carter's Palestinian support and loyalty in this matter, and alerting all that Mr. thebaron is a nonfactual neorepugservative, unlike Mr. Gramps and us.
it did, just not outlets that gramps would approve that would question his views...
How the modern State of Israel was created is not really open to opinion. The place was previously called Palestine, it was under British rule, as agreed to by the UN.
Then there was an war for independence, and some people who were called Zionists at the time carved out an area that they declared the State of Israel. The US recognized Israel almost immediately, then there was more fighting, and so on.
The UN was pretty far in the background on the story. I don't think it is factual to say that the UN created Israel, no matter what sources you quote. It didn't happen that way.

UN does not have the right to create a new country and nor should it been given it. British created Israel even if the UN put their nose in the mess.
