Best Buy....Black Friday.... glad i got out before it killed me
I had a summer job doing inventory in a giant factory, which was 100 years old when I worked there, but which has since been torn down.
I worked in an automobile assembly plant in Detroit putting engine parts together in 100 degree heat while wearing safety clothing including heavy boots.
I had various retail jobs in stores that sold ice cream, men's clothing, and tires.
I washed pots and pans in my college cafeteria, which was a pretty good job, low stress, high job satisfaction but crummy pay.
I have had many jobs in a very wide range of fields. Funny how the ones that pay the least were often the most enjoyable.
Yeah, the job was cool, but the lifestyle wasn't.
I was a dishwasher for almost three years in High school and college - after you get over the messiness of it, it wasn't bad, the cooks, waitresses and bar tenders were cool and all you could eat ... no ... not off of peoples plates but on your lunch break you could order just about anything, the walk in was always full of pies.
I did not like it when people left their cigarettes in their coffee .. yech - disgusting habit.
The pots & pans were even better, because they looked so nasty that they appeared to be too much hard work so no one wanted to do them.
I quickly figured out that all you had to do was let them soak for awhile in very hot very soapy water and the cooked-on mess came right off, and then those stainless pots and pans would SHINE!
Instant job satisfaction.
I was a blue collar child who couldn't afford the meal plan so my couple hour gig at the cafeteria was my one meal for the day. A good perk!
I am shocked that the UAW did not protect you from this car factory unhappiness. The walls of regulation are now being torn down so that overseas workers, and the few US manufacturing workers that are left, won't and don't have wear safety clothing.
We train customers that it may take several days to troubleshoot and repair any car or other device other than IT related equipment. We train users that any computer or network repair person should know all and everything about every piece of hardware, software, network, and virus the customer problem the customer needs fixing. We train users that if the IT person is not able to diagnose and repair within fast food drive through type racing car pit times of seconds or minutes, the IT person is incompetent incompetent. By creating hatred for these jobs due to customer expectations, Americans won't study for or apply for them and we can replace them with Chinese spy trained H1B and undocumented workers. We have also militarized economics (for the first time in history) and immigration so we can collapse the opposition from the inside through divide and conquer, through intellectual property (patent) and industrial espionage data theft, and by making the enemy economically dependent on our debt loans which we can threat to withdraw at any time. It is a brilliant set of moves even if we do say so ourselves.
I can identify with the commenter to the article:
"I have to empty the bucket in an abortion clinic. After looking at tiny arms, legs and bloody heads, it's hard to take a lunch break."
If hey showed these baby body parts on CCI all hell would break lose from viewers until it was announced the parts were only abortion litter. However I enjoyed watching the back strokers as I knew one more woman were able make a choice about her own body. Taxpayers should and will pay for these procedures.
This is a wonderful article to read comments on. The TV show "Dirty Jobs" could use this as a show idea list. Another great comment:
"I'm a prostitute and I love my job. I have sex all day long with dozens of different and interesting men. I love the sex and it feels so good. The pay is excellent and the added gifts I receive as a bonus are incredible. Another benefit are the hours. I can choose my own hours and sleep as much as I want."
"They must have interviewed people in "Generation Unemployed" for this list. That is to say either those who don't have jobs currently or those who will soon be out-of-work because they only entered the work force in the last few years and are graduates of an educational system that is completely out of control. Not only are these people fairly illiterate, they were given unrealistic expectations, false promises of financial success without having to sweat, and they have almost all been diluted of any masculine traits (including the women).
For IT Director and Marketing & Sales Director to be listed as the worst job shows that the people surveyed lack any determination. These two positions often call the shots in companies and they are the stepping stone to actually achieving financial success.
Pull up your pants, young Americans. Turn your baseball caps around the right way, or lose them all together; take the stupid rings out of your noses or scrotums or clits; stay away from tattoo parlors; and learn to spell."
"What about the guy who cleans the floor at an adult bookstore?
steamed .. you have to live with yourself .. I couldn't think of a much worse job than what you have.
What about the guy who cleans the floor at an adult bookstore?
My son did that for a minute. Only it was an adult DVD store, this being the twenty-first century and all.
Steamed just gave me another idea for a disgusting job.
Editing real footage of an ambush interview under false pretenses with additional footage shot elsewhere to make a video that shows a completely erroneous view of some organization that primarily helps people because your bosses have a different political point of view from those do-gooders, and they want to win people over to their way of thinking no matter how much they have to lie, cheat, and steal to do so.
It would be a soul sucking job for sure doing the bidding of liars and haters who fool people for a living with their angry and nonfactual propaganda. Probably pays well, though.

It's a good thing that you get paid to do a job.
Not fun jobs I've had ... cleaning out barns in 90 degree heat - that was not fun, baling hay and stacking in a barn, that was not fun, picking tobacco leafs - back breaking and the dang flies will kill you - that was probably the job I liked least, golf caddy - it kind of ruined that game for me - I used to like golf. General Service at an amusement park - ranging from sweeping, cleaning restrooms, taking tickets, working in the concession booths .. feeding the animals and helping the animal trainers was fun though.
