President Obama will be reelected next Fall if the economy is in reasonably good shape and people are beginning to go back to work.

The GOP has no incentive whatsoever to help him do that, which puts the president, the economy, and everyone who works for a living on one side and the GOP on the other side and the GOP seems enthusiastic about their position.

The GOP always thinks it can handle the economy better, but I seem to recall they felt that way when George W came into office with a balanced budget and lots of people working. They really improved on that, didn't they?

Horse radish .. Obama gave a tiresome election speech on the floor of the house - he sounded like a used car salesman asking to pass this bill (18 times) .. which hasn't even been written yet and no money for and no details.

The article could have been written democrats had their instructions on how to respond even before he gave his speech .. rah rah rah sis boom bah ... GOOOOOOOOOO Obama ... Go Obama. It's like Nancy Pelosi said ... first you have to pass the bill before you know what's in it.

There have been repugs that they say they like some parts of the bill ... it's things they had proposed before.

Team Red and Team Blue .. no one really seems to care about the country and what's best for it. Put down your pom poms and take a look at some of these facts .. and don't forget that the dems (team blue) controlled both houses of congress from 2007-> 2011 before you start blaming team red aka GOP or the tea party.

Wow. Look how effective the GOP is at that blaming Obama for everything shit.

I don't remember dems ever proposing taking the country down even further to win the presidency. Fucking douchecanoes.

You're telling me that you haven't heard Obama say time after time that he inherited all these problems .. he sure hasn't fixed much from the numbers noted above .. and notably a lot of things have gotten worse.

Blaming the GOP for not helping in the recovery is laughable .. yes .. it was the party of NO .. they want to crash the country .. they want to destroy all the businesses too ... right - blue team controlled the senate, house and WH .. and still the blue team in charge blames the red team .. and even more laughable are those that believed it then .. and believe it now. Even more ridiculous is team blue blaming the year year old tea party for the country s ailments

I can't believe that team blue is STILL trying to blame team red .. when it's both their fault for acting like little children with the blame game.

I thought it was hilarious today when I heard some dem talking head saying that McCain s financial adviser saying what a great boon this new tax bill could be ... hah ... like NOW they believe in McCain .. before he was a GW big corporate tool.

The article is specifically about a letter to all Republican candidates on the ballot in 2012 from the chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee that lays out a plan for beating Democrats: blame President Obama for the poor state of the economy.

Yes, plenty of finger pointing from all sides. True, Obama hasn't "fixed" the economy. However, there was only one party refusing to do their job until those tax cuts were extended.
And earlier...

Horseradish, indeed. This is a pathetic attempt to blame the guy who came in after the damage had already been done. If Senator McCain was president now, does anyone really think any of these "Records" would be better? It is possible that some might even be worse, if McCain was pressured into doing a repeat of Herbert Hoover and just let the market correct itself while millions went hungry for a decade.

The Republicans better hope that Obama fixes the economic because the only know how to screw up. Clinton left Bush an healthy economy and in a few years he messed it up. I figure is Obama don't get the economy fixed and the Republicans get control then the result will be a depression that will make the Great Depression look like a holiday. And the good thing about having the Republicans in charge when there is a Depression is that you know they will let millions starved to dead, especially blacks and Hispanics.
