We should be ashame when it takes a communist to protect the rights of Americans. What are the freedom loving conservatives doing to protect the right of Americans? Are they going to let some communist show them up.
To hell with the mathematicians, I think the voters should be lining up to do other things besides suing Father Scott. Most unpopular governor, ever. Worst case of buyers' remorse, ever. I am proud to say that I did NOT vote for the idiot.
Reminds me of the cost shocks in the Canadian gun registration program. And the Boston "Big Dig" which was completely dependent of any union milking even. I am surprised there is such low number of welfare recipients on drugs because of the 30 million's depressed state from not having a pot to piss in ... other than a reasonably steady supply of food, medical care, housing car and air conditioning. For entertainment, the household had two color televisions, cable or satellite TV, a DVD player, and a VCR. If there were children, especially boys, in the home, the family had a game system, such as an Xbox or a PlayStation. In the kitchen, the household had a refrigerator, an oven and stove, and a microwave. Other household conveniences included a clothes washer, clothes dryer, ceiling fans, a subsidized cordless and sometimes cell phone phone, and a coffee maker.
The home of the typical poor family was not overcrowded and was in good repair. In fact, the typical poor American had more living space than the average European. The typical poor American family was also able to obtain medical care when needed. By its own report, the typical family was not hungry and had sufficient funds during the past year to meet all essential needs.
Poor families certainly struggle to make ends meet, but in most cases, they are struggling to pay for air conditioning and the cable TV bill as well as to put food on the table.
Damn, I'm moving to America and being poor, hell with this working in a bunker stuff. "Freedom from wanting and then getting other people's stuff taken from them and given to me Zimbabwe and Nicaragua style is the way for me to go.
I have to take random drug tests to earn my money, why should it be any different for someone who merely receives it?
Point well taken. But on second thought, since you have already taken the drug test, and you provided the money to the taker, which is the really important thing, why should the taker have to test too at the same office of redundancy office. This is similar to double taxatation - ok for corporations, but not for the taking man.
If the police can't search you without a search warrant then noboby should be allowed to give you drug test without a search warrant. If the state has a right to drug test people on welfare then they have a right to test everyone. If they don't have the right to test everyone then they don't have the right to people on welfare. Just remember that the state provides services to everyone not just people on welfare.
The state should have to have a search warrant to wiretap you, but they don't have to anymore.
Philosophy aside, if the rate of positive drug tests is only 2%, it makes no sense to ask people who have hit rock bottom financially to pony up for a drug screen that is so irrelevant that almost everyone passes it. As a cost savings measure, it is a titanic waste of money.
Don't forget that this Tea Party governor was once the CEO of a company that owned hospitals so this unnecessary laboratory testing can be seen as corporate welfare for the lab companies which once provided services to his hospitals and which now perform unnecessary testing to people in need.

Our heart is a flutter once again, as encouraged by Mr. Gramps. The ACLU stands for freedom and is possibly the greatest of all progressive organizations. In the bunker the words of Roger Baldwin, co-founder of the ACLU, decorate the caveways: "I am for Socialism, disarmament and ultimately, for the abolishing of the State itself ... I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal." As Earl Browder, the general secretary of the Communist Party of the United States, proudly said, The ACLU serve as a "transmission belt" for the party. Roger Baldwin agreed, claiming, "I don't regret being a part of the communist tactic which increased the effectiveness of a good cause."
