We haven't HAD regulation in 30 years.
And the alternative is unrestricted pollution after the watchdog federal agency is dismantled?
Remember, the Koch brothers don't want deregulation. They want no regulation whatsoever, so they can do whatever it takes to get the job done with no thought for the consequences to our air our water our soil our kids our health or our future. Drill baby drill now, make money as fast as you can before the country becomes unlivable.
And this concept is referred to as conservative?
I don't know where you live ... we sure the heck have in Cali.
Why do you assume the worse ... the problem is that you think that conservatives want to get rid of all regulations .. not the case .. you are just paranoid.
The Koch brothers won't get all that they want .. take a look at GE and see what they've gotten away with ... BTW .. all it took was some nice contributions to the WH - This is reality .. yours is speculation and paranoia. As usual you assume the regulators are actually doing the job they were paid off not to do.
hmm, That sounds like a lot of talk with little to back it up..
What i notice is the right seems really against any type of forward movment in the world... Anything away from the current flawed way of life and it turns into a cry-fest.
The party of no you dare mention? No, i think we have all seen what the No people are about and who they are.
Also i cant help but find it kinda flawed that everyone has known the ties to the right that the energy corporations have.. But you dont even talk about that (it being what this thread is about) and try to throw blame off to the left and Obama? Not very nonpartisan of you.
One easy question to ask yourself.. What do we gain by deregulation, even in part?
What do we gain and what do they gain? Hmm..
The agenda of the Koch brothers is not really a secret or a theory.
They fund all kinds of political activities, in addition to the money they have paid out to nearly everyone on the committee mentioned in the article.
They are prime movers behind the idea that smaller, more Constitutional government means getting rid of federal agencies that regulate business in general, and energy business (their business) in particular.
All you have to do is look into what happens when the Fracking technique is used to explore for natural gas to have an idea of what these guys could do if there was no one to keep tabs on what they are up to.
If no one had any authority over them, there is no telling what damage they would do.
And THAT is their agenda in a nutshell, so let's all set the water coming out of our kitchen faucets on fire in salute for the Koch Brothers, who after all, are only protecting our Constitution and liberating us from climate change science (they fund a lot of denial propaganda too, you know)

Or the liberal California way is to tax everyone including companies heavily, over regulate have the companies move out of the state/ country and the workers lose their jobs and go on unemployment for several years the price of the product goes up .. everyone loses all around ... there must be a trade off there. I state the obvious for those that wonder why there is all this unemployment in the country.
Want energy .. well so does most of America - apparently too many liberals don't want coal, don't want oil drilled in their own backyard, no shale, don't want a nuclear reactor in their own backyard, want to spend over $6.50 on corn ethanol and can't seem to get that solar thing going either. Talk about the party of NO !! or is it nonsense?
Yeah even more regulation .. .that will encourage businessmen .. gish ... what are you thinking? Look at what over regulation and unions has done for Michigan, Detroit, and many other industrialized areas. ObamaMotors bailed out .. and they invest in China factories and jobs.
