so printing money at a huge rate is not worry that the dollar is about to drop like a rock? It's happened in many countries and it could happen here with the way the feds are messing up the economy.
Printing money at a huge rate isn't a particularly good thing, but it also is not the cause for worry you seem to think it is.
1) We aren't the only one's printing up money. Rapid inflation won't hit unless we start doing it out of pace with the majority of the worlds economies.
2) The US dollar is a reserve currency, unlike pretty much everything else. If it inflates, everything else moves with it, and you don't notice so much. Yes, we can still get insane inflation, but it will be telegraphed by people fleeing the dollar as a reserve currency. Telltale signs like oil being traded in some other currency and China unpegging it's currency form the dollar.
3) The economy is currently deflationary. They are printing up money to try and create inflation. It's not working because of the rush to liquidity as the liquidity is destroyed. So... (BTW, that's our biggest problem with regards to a recovery. If you see spending, job creation, AND printing up money, then worry... A LOT.)
