Do you need a weatheran to tell you which way the wind blows?

Not to sure you need to 'estimate' it's impact from a govt agency which is often wrong or a VP that has his foot in his mouth, .. you can see the closed stores and homes for sale and layoffs of your friends and others in your community. You should see the inflation costs when you go to the store and buy basic items.

Yep, it really a bummer that people that haven't had a really pay raise in one heck of a long time can't buy thing to keep the economy out of the dumper! Even old Republican Henry ford knew that if you want people to buy your products you need to pay them enough so they can!

Nope, doubt that is going to be any more than a temporary band-aid on the problem! We need to start making things in this country again and get beyond, only the service and financial sectors having any life! If the working man in this country has nothing left over after paying his bills, if he can, we are going to go into a real Depression, if we aren't there already!

For that to happen we need to pressure developing nations to allow unions.

I think we would have to first start at home, since the Unions have been pretty much destroyed since the Reagan years! The Japanese destroyed the Autoworkers Union there many years ago! They only have "Company" Unions now! When they vote a company goon is looking over their shoulder to make sure they vote right! If they vote the wrong way , they could end up dead, or them and their whole family could be fired and not only lose their jobs but their company housing also!

Unions don't create jobs - they may help the workers conditions .. but they unions don't give people jobs or create any product.

No, but they CAN help the poor keep a livable slice of their productivity. If American workers are ever going to be on an even level with other workers without simply working for $1 a day, overseas unionization is essential.

exactly! That is the reason why we are in the fix we are now! They make stuff they have no hope of buying and we buy stuff they make on borrowed money! Whole thing is unsustainable!
