You have a pretty good memory, just make a mental list of things you were all worked up about in the recent past because of the stories these people told you. Were their predictions of impending doom accurate or not on average?
Did your guns get confiscated? Did Death Panels put Granny to sleep? Did Obama use the BP's $20 billion as a slush fund? Have your income taxes gone up? Is the income gap between the wealthiest Americans and the the rest of the country getting wider or is income redistribution leveling things out? Is abortion mandatory for those receiving federal medical assistance?

You hemmed and hawed but the answer is no, none of those hot button issues have really materialized. Obama has no direct access to the BP fund, there haven't been any meaningful changes on abortion since 1972, taxes haven't gone up and the gap between rich and poor is at an all time high, higher I believe now than during the Great Depression.
