Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely is as true today as it ever was.
Not saying that the cops have absolute power, but they have more than they should.
I don't hold out much hope that the current Supreme Court is going to reign them in anytime soon.
Conservative Justices = State's power
Not that this problem is a federal issue either. States should be more powerful in their state than the feds.
'Should be' is not the issue here. The Federal Government has the power and it exercises it.
State-Power conservatives most of all. They aren't for State's-Power, as in the individual States, but THE STATE, meaning federal.
That is the way it is and has been for a long time.

Police need to have much of their power to break heads removed as too many of their bad one love to abuse it. Too bad someone ain't moving as fast as you want or can't find the papers fast enough...
