Sounds like good news, unless you are a Doctor that just took delivery on your new Jag, Maserati, Lotus, or whatever expensive sports car is the flavor of the month right now!

this has been happening for decades. it's called the HMO. the doctors that are part of HMOs (closed or open panel) are scrutinized down to the last penny on their average patient costs. if they are out of line with the HMO average, they're dumped. it doesn't matter if that particular doctor had an expertise in a rare but expensive disorder/disease.

your best bet is to elect for a PPO/AOP if you have the option.

Unfortunately I don't have that option, unless I want to move to Michigan! Stuck with piecemeal traditional medical insurance and Medicare! I loved it when I was in an HMO, best medical insurance coverage I ever had, well at least since I got out of the Army anyhow!

Systems like the Mayo Clinic have proven there need not be a conflict between excellence and cost." At least one just doesn't except Medicare. Is this a great plan to bring US patients to the fair playing field of third world health care or what!

A state is better governed which has but few laws, and those laws strictly observed. Some really wacky neocon named R. Decartes
