Just like the last one, I think the conservative media has demonized a rather middle of the road judge.
The Supreme Court is still so top heavy with conservatives I don't know what they are so panicky about. Kagan is a little scary to look at but I am sure she is going to be just fine.
I don't give a shit what the media has said about her. I did my own research on her as I had a vested interest in her appointment. I don't deny her intellect. I just strongly feel she does not have the requisite experience necessary to hold a seat on the highest court in the land.
And she is very scary to look at. What's worse is she is better looking than the other two broads.

Z3 can speak for himself, but I think he is saying that he wants a nominee to the Supreme Court to have experience as a judge.
There was an idea floated around after Obama's last pick was demonized based on the way some of her cases were decided that if you had a non-Judge as a candidate then the bullshit could be kept to a minimum. But if that was the bright idea, it didn't work very well, because the conservative media found plenty of molehills to make mountains out of with regard to Kagan.
Plus, Z has a point, she looks like a dude in drag. Of course you don't have to look like a supermodel to be a judge, at least in my book.

I'm not a misogynistic racist. I am an attorney though and seeing how the SCOTUS lays down the precedent on laws I have to wrangle with each day, I feel that I have a vested interest.
I regularly argue before several well qualified and extremely competent female judges. They have earned my respect by the way they handle their caseloads and their courtrooms. Their competence comes from experience. Each of these women practiced law for 10 plus years before sitting on the bench and they have been judges in my circuit for at least 10 years now. To pull someone, man or woman, from academia with little practical experience and plug them into the SCOTUS is nonsense IMO.
Let me pose this question to you. If you needed surgery, would you want a surgeon that had only attended med school but never did any residency at all?

If she disrespects the military because she doesn't like DADT, she has a whole lot of company on both sides of the issue. I guess they all hate the military, if you apply the same logic.
