He did point out the obvious though, that some people who attended Tea Party events seemed to have some racist ideas.
Having seen photos of a lot of weird signs carried at Tea Party events I would amend that to say that there were a lot of people at Tea Party events who had crazy, stupid, conspiratorial, and/or racist points of view.
These include, for those who can't seem to think of any, many variations on the Birther theme, many references to Socialism, Communism, Fascism, and famous people who represent those concepts in some kind of comparison to President Obama. These include Mao, Hitler, Stalin, Marx, and so on.
Many references to Muslims, terrorists including the 9/11 terrorists, and the need for a 'Christian' in the White House also somehow in reference to the president. (remember that Obama had that controversial preacher man Rev Wright as his minister for over 20 years. Is it even necessary to point out that while Rev Wright might be loony, he is definitely Christian in religious orientation?)
Also, references to impeachment and even lynching. The calls for impeachment either had no basis for it at or, or referred to fictional matters as the basis for it.
Not to mention the references to Batman character The Joker as somehow compared to the president.
Not all overtly racist, just weird and stupid.
So? People are stupid on both sides of the aisle. Why are you so quick to forget all of the stupid signs protesting GW. Those were OK because he was a dumb white guy?
Gramps wears

I am thinking that in one of the 2000 page bills that Nancy, Reid and Obama have passed there is a provision that will make people wear these democrat glasses .. and BTW - you the tax payer have paid for them already ... brother .. you have really paid for them.
Biden has said this before about the tea party, not that you or T would know since you are busy slinging the righty propaganda around all day and trolling with baron.. Where did hammers go anyway?
And GW was ok because he got us in this situation..
Hey I don't deny that there are plenty of dopes among the dems. There are many that I would like to see go into retirement, Pelosi first among them.
I am just making a comment related to whether or not there were any signs of racism at Tea Party events. A number of famous people have famously said very recently that they couldn't think of any.
I am referring to that and to VP Biden's comment that some of the stuff at Tea Party events looked racist but that doesn't necessarily tar the entire movement as racist, an obvious observation on the part of the VP.
I don't think that is true at all. Back in the Dark Days of the Bush era it was impossible to say even mildly negative things about Bush without an aggressive backlash (see, The Dixie Chicks).
I don't have anywhere near the same level of partisanship toward the Dems. Heck, I don't even like a lot of them and wish that there were better choices available.
I am reminded of Bill Maher's joke (and it is a joke so lighten up) that we have a Two Party system in this country. One is totally in the pockets of Big Energy, Big Banking, Big Pharma, Big Insurance and so on. That of course is the Democrats. The other Party is full of lunatics and fanatics.
I see the Dems as a buffer between us consumers and the crazy people of the world.
When in a poltical discussion it is good to know that you can always use ...

Biden finally says something that isn't stupid.
