The rampage in the county of Cumbria was Britain's deadliest mass shooting since 1996 and it jolted a country where handguns are banned and multiple shootings rare.
That is, rare unless you are talking about urban areas with a crime problem. Lots of multiple shootings there.
Also, fewer than 100 gun murders needs to be taken in context. It's not a murder until they have a conviction the way the UK collects their stats (Scotland does it like we do, with the opening of the investigation). There are a hell of a lot more shootings than that.
Wonder how many deaths by stabbing and other means there are, even considering that knives are also looked down on there!
It's very hard to say. Their rate of violent crime is WAY higher than ours per capita. Even with their odd accounting method. Scotland's murder rate is a bit higher than ours, but less firearms involved.
