I sure hope they find this family alive.. I'm not trying to be unsympathetic because my heart and Prayers really goes out to these people, but would you live in an area that is known to have giant sink holes that can accrue at anytime..I wouldn't of coarse you could say the same thing about California why do people live there knowing about Earthquakes that could swallow them..I dun no...I'll stay here in Ohio..
