When I was that age, they just sent you to the office to make the acquaintance of the large paddle that was kept there! If I had complained to my parents about it I would have got it again worse at home!
teachers can inflict pain with homework and tests and book reports ... but you're right .. it is a wonder more don't lose their patience and wig out.

If they were able to properly disciple the kids (I would give permission for spanking under limited conditions).
The kids nowadays are nothing like they were when I was in School(no wooden shoe jokes please) ..they don't respect or care about others at all..I'm not saying all the kids are like this just saying about 80 percent are...they took the paddle away and dropped the ball...I'm not trying to defend the actions in this particular case but I do believe something should be done.
