A survey of Tea Partiers???
That has to be scientific, since people who carry misspelled signs comparing the president to Hitler (or The Joker, or Karl Marx) wouldn't lie to us, would they?
I think the number is high myself. It has been shown in a number of other polls though that the independents are not leaning left anymore.
Remember a republican recently won senator's Teddy seat in Massachusetts - which seems pretty amazing to me - I am sure those died in the wool dems have forgotten this already.

Shoot why don't you go to the next tea rally next time there is one in your Florida neighborhood and see first hand what they actually look like instead of the CNN faux appearance.

Tea Party 48% Obama 44%
On major issues, 48% of voters say that the average Tea Party member is closer to their views than President Barack Obama. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 44% hold the opposite view and believe the president's views are closer to their own.

I think it's more telling that 46% are neither for nor opponents of, or have no opinion (Gallup).
I for one never said that there weren't idiots who were Democrats and Independents! Just that the Republicans seem to have a LOT more of them, or at least they are more vocal with it!
