I think it is fair to say that the government isn't as open as Obama promised but more open than it was back in the days when Bush or Cheney could say just about anything they wanted and hold back just about anything they wanted with regard to the public.

Better, but not better enough.

I think a pretty strong argument can be made that things are just the same.

Did you read the article? Get off the GW and Cheney mantra .. look at who is currently in office and what is going on.

The whole point of the article is that the current administration (and if 2000 to 2008 is GW's, that would make this one Obama's) is refusing to disclose more information than the previous one.

Pretty hard to get Bureaucrats to change the way they do things once they get used to doing it that way, especially if it makes it easier than what they did before!
