...one of the crew of workers was working on the bridge's hydraulics, but she couldn't comment on whether they may have caused the east half of the bridge to rise unexpectedly. The workers did not comment.
Of course they didn't comment. Less chance of a successful lawsuit if you admit to doing it yourselves.
