I was recently at a medical convention and the general impression I got is that most of these docs see a need for reform in general, but there are certain specific provisions that they object to.
Not one of these docs took a radical Tea Party, reform is unconstitutional, or Socialist, or Communist, or hijacking our kid's future point of view.
Except for the parts which they think will hurt them financially, they see it as something that probably has to be done. Of course they are very interested in every detail, they are working on members of Congress (in both parties) whom they consider to be friendly to their cause, and they are extremely well informed about the whole process.
And again, none of these very well informed individuals is repeating any of the common talking points that dominate the media about how reform will destroy America and so on.
Problem is, with no cooperation from the Republicans, We are going to have to be satisfied with the not so great Health Reform bill that they can actually pass through reconciliation, since a totally new bill that gets it perfect is no way going to get 60 votes in the Senate!

This does kind of change the equation somewhat!
