Hey, at least it wasn't as bad as what they sold to French Customers a while back! They got caught adding Ethylene Glycol(antifreeze) to wine to boost the alcohol content and add sweetness, to the Cheap red wine and in another case they added ethyl alcohol made from petroleum to the cheap red wine and got caught by a carbon 14 test that showed it was Vintage 2 Million B.C.!!
So nothing new! There are scamming Dirt Bags world wide, no one has a monopoly on them!
Didn't Bart Simpson discover that scam?
Yep! I saw that episode! It came out not long after the scandal broke in the news! Seems the grapes from the Midi region didn't have enough sugar to bring the wine up to a high enough alcohol content for Vin-ordinare, so they added some more alcohol that was not from grapes, which is a BIG no no in France and I assume elsewhere in the world also!
