Haha! Look at all the fools on this thread characterizing Lewis as some sort of sacrificial lamb. He's not. He took government money with the implicit understanding that Merrill would be absorbed. Everybody knew that BoA would be taking a hit, but it was being more than offset by government money. What did Lewis try to do? Tried to exercise a MAC clause to let BoA out of the deal under the pretense of it being "too expensive." BoA was trying to have its cake and eat it too by taking government money and then turning around and reneging on the understanding that it would absorb Merrill. Win-win for BoA, except that his bluff was called.
BoA are total scum and they have been for years. They were even successfully sued a couple years back for scamming the elderly out of their money.
I have to agree with you! There is no way in hell, That I would do business with that outfit, they treat their customers like scum! Also their ethics don't bear mentioning!
