Nice looking, yes. However that's the way nature works. Species compete, some lose and they go away. Nature is not static despite the desires of many "environmentalists," to try to achieve the contrary.
Yes, you don't want to wipe out those you eat, but predators that compete? You only have to make sure you take up the slack enough that disease and overpopulation are avoided with the prey species they consumed.
