Because Cuba has a large navy and airlift infrastructure to rapidly move supplies across the ocean. Oh wait. They don't. They are a third world country with very limited resources.
Haiti has been a relative garbage dump of a country for the last 50 years... search the web... When everyone in the us has a roof and food and a blanket , we can go nation fixing again...not until then... remember all the Haitian refugees???

To add insult to injury, all of these dead bodies are going to cause a major bio hazard problem. The stench alone is going to be an issue. I think I heard on NPR that the prime minister is predicting hundreds of thousands have died.

Why ban only him? There's a whole cadre of people like him on this site. I can list half a dozen people who spew this type of bullshit on a daily basis. Unless you plan on removing a lot of people, there's no sense in banning him.
Gotta agree with you. And I must admit, some of the back-and-forths are amusing as hell. Up to a point, of course.
I agree there are others on the site that speak with equal idiocy, however there are equal amounts of users here that look for it and antagonize them in their own little political link world. It's not dragged into a topic such as this. If he were playing in those sandboxes fine; however he chooses to continually bring it in to serious topics.

I have no problem with helping Haiti people and tons of people will help, plus other countries. As long as the local government keeps their hands out of the supplies and money, I have no problem with that. Zimbabwe government interfered with their donations and helped further the suffer of their own people.
It just seems that our government continues to throw money at the problems that we don't have due to horrible management of Congress and the Federal Government. Red Cross had a huge boost in funds from 9-11/Tsunami and as long as they did not waste it, then their organization should be able to assist effectively.
I have half a dozen e-mails in my inbox from organizations asking for help. So far none seem to be scams, since they are organizations I have worked with in the past.
I'm watching and waiting, though, for the scammers to start using this tragedy for their gain.
How to help.
The people who are idiots in politics are idiots in all aspects of their life. I fully expected morons here to make stupid comments about this disaster. These people genuinely believe what they are saying... they aren't saying it tongue-in-cheek. For whatever reason, this site attracts a lot of trailer trash morons who talk a lot of shit and have an IQ of about 70.
And people wonder why I sincerely believe that we need IQ tests to determine eligibility to vote.
I guess the impersonality and anonymity of the internet sometimes allow us to make light of the Human Drama, laugh at others pain and suffering through the eyes of You Tube. It makes cynicism easy and enjoyable.
But things like this tragedy in Haiti, and SoR_AWC's response. Wow, I don't even know where to begin. Just shaking my head.
SOR_AWC with some callous remarks .. nothing really new, as he often does this - it seems to have struck a nerve today however.
The earthquake is a terrible tragedy and the death and carnage is unbelievable. It looks like there will be help from around the globe. That will not help the dead but will help the hurt and living try to survive. Odd that the Dominican republic was not damaged that much (at least initial reports) while the poorer country Haiti encountered incredible damage.
Haiti is one of, if not the poorest country in the western hemisphere. I'm sure much of the carnage was due to the poor shape of so many of the buildings there. If you look at the fault lines for that island there are many and this quake occurred fairly near the surface for particularly destructive consequences.
Some incredible stories so far of people being buried alive, rescued and unfortunate many deaths and injuries
From a group mentality perspective, SOR_AWC was slammed .. I'm not sure if I have seen such a universal response here at MV. I don't think it will bother him however as he appears to have a rather thick skin. I'm not sure how all of a sudden it turned into those people are all idiots and morons and let's ban some more people discussion - I guess that would have something to do with the group mentality turn mob mentality. All of a sudden the cry to ban a cadre of people because they are all trailer trash and morons and because they disagree with me .... makes the situation even more sad ...shakes head ....
I gave donated some money today the Amercian Red Cross, I hope others do too. If you believe in prayer - say a prayer for those that need it. I hope that others try to be more tolerant of other people too ... can't we all get along together?

You may want to reread the comments posted. *All* the comments before accusing users of having a mob mentality.
Two people stated their opinions on banning SOR.
Two users does not a mob make. Especially since one of them is Canadian and he expressed his displeasure with a stern letter comment.
I would ask you to point out where you read that trailer trash users should be banned. Please do so. And if you reread the comments, you will notice that several people commented on banning him not being necessary.
And insofar as banning is concerned, I am this website's Judge, Jury, and Executioner. No matter who calls for a banning, I will decide whether it is merited or not.
Regardless how callous SOR appears to be to a universally diverse group of people here on Madville he did not break the TOS and that is what matters to me as a Mod.
And if everyone got along, Madville wouldn't be Madville.

The observation that I really can't remember the collective group slam a persons comments as in this thread, I think is valid - that as the group mentality I was referring too. As far as the mob mentality, I did reach for that, I am sorry if offended anyone with that remark. I should not have grouped the collective into a statement issued by a single poster.
When a someone posts that this site attracts idiotic trailer trash morons, struck a nerve as this poster often will use such colorful language in his posts directed at myself and others - that is probably what I took offense to most and keyed on to the "there is a whole cadre of people like him" I do not think that calling people trailer trash or morons or idiots etc .. promotes a very civil or healthy dialog.

Zem, I think that as a MOD for MV, you show outstanding respect for the TOS and amazing restraint in your comments regarding politics & religion. 
SOR can take the heat, heat which is well deserved in this case, but the point is that he deserved it, he got it, and he is still here to tell the tale. As it should be.
I have to agree with Big T 100% in heaping praise and respect onto ZemRrushe for her judgment and restraint for letting Madville be Madville.
