Why does it seem that every time the media floats a "global-warming skepticism" story it later turns out to be a deliberate misinterpretation or misquote paid for by oil money? Just wondering.

I recommend everyone with an interest in "Cap and Trade" or Crap and Trade as it is most frequently referred to on MV, read the portion of this story on that issue.

It is a point of view that you probably haven't heard before, and one worth hearing.

>"U.S. media coverage of climate change certainly has been slanted -- but the evidence shows it's been slanted precisely in the opposite direction."

Funny how everyone that sees MMGW for what it is is biased, but scheming, lying, MMGW scientists get a pass.

You totally forgot about those lying scheming global warming deniers and their energy company benefactors.

They are responsible for some of the tallest tales told since the link between smoking and cancer was still 'unproven.'

I didn't forget.

I never saw the emails from the "deniers" or the energy companies, but the scientist's emails ARE there for all to see. I guess that makes you a denier.

Actually, some of the biggest benefactors of those energy companies are the institutions promoting AGW. They are like arms dealers selling to both sides of a war. Only thing is the money given to the deniers has been exposed ad nauseum by the hysterists while forgetting to mention the money they themselves have been receiving.

And as it has been well below average where I live for the past week with more and colder air on the way, please send me some of your GW.

Maybe you should throw out a few of the coldest days and - then it won't be so cold where you are at .... that's what the big boys do to get their papers published.

Gramps knows global warming .. after all he lives in Florida.

And for you Heywood..Since by your own admission you have not looked into the subject other then what you want to hear, and decided to quote me

(thanks by the way, every post you make on the subject with your joke quote of mine just shows how little you know on the subject)

http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn17808-climate-myths-any-cooling-disproves-global-warming.html

Funny, remember that "Day After Tomorrow" movie? (Since you prob dont get much more then anything spoon feed to you) Seemed pretty cold didnt it?

Funny, That as ice melts and more water in our atmosphere that it could get colder, that we could have worse winters etc..

Funny, That the globe full of all different weather patterns and those in the southern hemisphere would be effected first.

Funny, that you can do simple math.

The glaciers have been retreating since the little ice age ended .. in Switzerland it was in the mid 1800's.

In Norway in the mid 1700's

Sorry to burst the chicken little CO2 climate believers bubble.

There are plenty of environmental issues to address that are more serious and affecting mankind than CO2 emissions.

Don't waste your breath, Kano doesn't understand what anecdotal evidence is (specifically the second definition in my link).

Yay!! I think the climate a very simple system and should be able to tell from todays weather what is going on in the world!

Yay!! I dont chose to research a subject, i just chose to speak about it!

Yay!! It beyond me to grasp how things could possiably get colder and how the weather could shift erratically year to year with the global warming theory! (I hear thats what the whole thing is based on, but i wont read it anyway!!)

Yay!! I just say all this because it what my team agrees with!

Yay!! I dont think the rest of the world or think highley educated scientists know more then me about anything!!

Yay!! I must be the smartest man in the world!

Yay!! that ozone hole is lame, and things under it would never be effected first!

Yay!! OIL!!!

Yay!! For the way things are which people have said broke for years!

Yay!! Here is 5 bucks a gallon!

Yay!! Now you can afford to hire more people to agree with our point of view!

Yay!! Yay!! Yay!!

It is obvious by now that the climate is changing. Even the deniers can't deny that anymore (well on cold days some still make an attempt).

No one is saying that burning fossil fuels is the only factor in a very complex and very old climate system, but it is easy to suppose that if the climate is getting warmer due to natural causes, we could still accelerate the process by spewing greenhouse gases into the air.

There really shouldn't be anything controversial about this, except that a very powerful industry's livelyhood depends on having us continue to burn their products. That is the heart of the 'debate.' On one hand is obvious evidence that the climate is getting warmer, and at the same time, we are pumping gases into the air which are known to cause a greenhouse effect. The only thing preventing us from connecting these simple dots is the commercial interest of the energy industry.

The debate is between overwhelming evidence and people who don't want to hear it, and of course those whom they have propagandized.
