Yeah, lets bring back the good old days of Bush when a young girl working for a defense contractor could be gang raped with impunity, and if she tried to complain or worse yet, bring charges against her attackers, you could just have her fired or even locked up.

You know,'bag'(or can I call you 'cat'), it is looking like 2010 is going to be a big year for the GOP and I am seriously thinking about switching sides and going over to the party of smaller government and more freedom (remind me how GW Bush accomplished those things, I forget) and less red tape regulation of bankers and rapists and so on.
Enough already of all this health care for Americans and of bailing out the US economy. Let's bring back flirting with disaster, I say! Screw health care, let's bomb Iran and maybe France too.

anyway, I did not say anything about politics, just that lamparty must be Al Franken because of the number of posts (favorable of course) on Big Al.
And Americans already have excellent health care. The problem is that they need to much of it because of their crappy lifestyles, and they want everyone but themselves to pay for it.
They aren't bailing out the economy, they are making it worse. Pretty much all 100 senators and how ever many reps (is it around 450?).
If the rape bill was simply that, I totally support it. But no bill is ever simply that, they always have loads of other crap added on to them. So this one probably did too. Politicians are known to leave out facts, and Franken is worse than most of them.
The Americans that have health insurance for the most part have good health care. The problem, the real problem rather than some made up issue, is that tens of millions of Americans don't have health insurance, and can't easily get it.
A person who works but doesn't get health insurance at work would be wiped out if they got the same disease that former basketball player Kareem Abdul Jabar recently came down with, CML. It has an extremely effective treatment that can keep a person totally healthy almost indefinitely, but it is very expensive.
If you don't have insurance and make too much money for Medicaid, you are screwed.
There needs to be a way to deliver treatment to people who need it, not just to help those who need the treatment but so that the companies that sell the products and services can do their business.
